Ukraine, Russia and Belarus are the regions of conflict between two narratives: modernity and tradition. Modernity backed by technologies and values of democracy might win in Ukraine, while tradition, represented by oppressive regimes in Belarus and Russia, narrow the space for social transformation, dragging societies to Orwell type of state. During the session we will discuss what role Internet plays in societies, what are the most visible trends for Internet freedom in each country and what can be done by netcitizens?
